  • Bug: no duplicate thread title message

When I make a thread with a particular title, then try to reuse that same title in the same forum, it does not show me 'Sorry, but it is not allowed to use the same thread title twice in a single forum', but shows me the created thread just as if I could now post in it, while if I then choose to browse the parent forum there's no such thread.

It's confusing and potentially bad - I didn't try to post a post in that thread, but I guess there wouldn't be anything good if I tried.

Why would you want to post two threads of the same name in one forum?

      useless spammers

*hint: change ONE CHARACTER in the thread title

I'm not sure I understand what bT is saying... but yeah, I have the same question as DrSpike... Why do you want two threads of the same name?
To us, it is the BEAST.

Because he forgot to include the poll in the first one.

Maybe the solution is to be more careful instead of blaming the software.

Nono, I do not blame the software in my own mistake, it just took awhile before I realised the mistake, and that was because:

            - there was no warning message (that I may not repeat the same thread title twice)
            - there was a buggy threadpost result leading me to first post of seemingly created thread, which upon me going to parent forum disappeared.

If there is mechanismus that detects Im trying to insert the same thread title, I think there shouldn't be any problem to add a few lines to it doing the following:
            - alerting user it's impossible (you already have the dialog template, just need to change the text)
            - cancelling current action so that it doesn't seem like it was success.
