yeah, tough to moderate, and could be abused... and the fact that there are French sites you can go to if you wish to post in French. Nobody is asking you to "go somewhere else"... they are saying to follow the rules here and post in English since this IS AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE SITE!

ya know, I should talk to the owners. Language threads could bring in more people, more members, and with a higher traffic rate, they can get more money from the advertisers. a win-win situation for apolyton!!

Feel free... the owners have said NO everytime in the past.

You seem to think that money is what drives the owners... it isn't. This is a hobby site to them. To them, it's a gaming site. They put up with the OTF to keep those kind of threads out of the true heart of the site... which is the gaming forums. There are french gaming sites you can go to... but this is an English langauge gaming site, and that's the way they like it.

Hell, they could allow porn if all they were looking for was more traffic and more money. But what they want is a family oriented English language Civ/Gaming site.

So again... feel free to send them a PM. I will be surprised if they give you an answer different than what they have repeatedly posted to these kind of requests before.

Paradox has a set of French forums, including ones devoted to the Paradox games, and an OT forum in French.

Apolyton is what it is... It can't be all things to all people. Heck, I wish the owners would allow a sports forum, but they won't. So I use another site for my true sports fix. I would recommend the same for those that wish to speak French on a gaming forum

True, there´s a lot of things I would be able to talk about on Poly, more "adult" things for example. But alas, this is a family site so certain topics are not allowed. But if you have a perverse need to flaunt your sexual life or related topics there´s always Counterglow The same goes for discussions in languages other than english, it´s not like there´s no other forums where you can discuss gaming in odd little languages like french
