At the moment, the threads that I have posted in last are still displayed in red when I return to the forum page. I mean, I've obviously read the latest post, because I was there making it, but that doesn't seem to be recognised by the server.
I have that problem often. The only way to solve it is to close all browser windows and then open it up again.
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.-Isaiah 41:10 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made - Psalms 139.14a

It is not a read threads feature, it is a new posts feature since your last visit. So that means if you post in a thread than it is red, because it contains at least one new post since your last visit, even if it is your own post. And visit means when yyou logged in the last time.
By the way read threads feature would require much more data to be stored on the server. You would need a database for each user and each thread store this little bit of information. That would be threads times users bits. And that is a lot. And most of the threads in the forum would be marked red.

I have a problem that´s just the opposite. Sometimes I get yellow envelopes on threads I know I haven´t read... Like this one.
Of course, because there were no new post since your last visit.

Yes, storing these bits of information on my computer, is a ingenious idea, lots of bits of information stored on your computer, and if you use a different computer everything is gone. Once again God made our life easier with His deep wisdom and mercy.
