I've IRCed a few times from home with mIRC, but our PCs at school are set up to deny the program licences apparently. The Java chat room comes up as blank grey window, even though Java works for other things. Does anyone have an idea how I could get IRC with this PC? What other info should I give?

I just tested this, and it worked ...
That's their demo of a downloadable free java client, you don't have to dl anything other than just running the demo.
Make sure and use the "heavy" version, the normal didn't work for me ...<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
