  • Problems with the euro sign

Is somebody experiencing this as well? I tried switching browser encoding to unicode (UTF-8), but that did only worse.
    I'm using Firefox 1.0.7

Isn't there a € shortcut (&euro? - Seems it works and this one: € (works for me as well)

The first one works but the second one doesn't work using Mozilla 1.7.5.

Both work for me, except where they appear in a quote.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

So the best option to include the euro sign would be to use € = €

I see the second one but not the first! Firefox 1.07 and ISO 8859-1 (Western). The ASCII code is & # 128 (without the spaces of course...) Thus &#128

                You don't see this: € ( € )

I can't believe you, I've got same firefox and mine interprets this shortcut, so yours would have to interpret it as well.

It should be right of your space bar. However if I try the combo it appears in this posting text box, but it is posted as question mark: ¤

Edit: This was the case when I tried it last time. So it works now.

Maybe those are just labled the same, it should be the right one. It shouldn't harm to test it, but the problem might be (of course I can only speculate) that your keyboard configuration is something else than those of an English or German keyboard.

Back to the Euro-sign: One thing that still bothers me of
Gangerolf's post is that the Euro-sign appears as question mark.

Do that and I get é. Its Alt Gr + 4 or Ctrl + Alt + 4 on my keyboard as it shares its place with the $.

Alt Gr only works on weird foreign keyboards. Civilized nations use Alt + 5

You people are all using different keysets, duh.

€ (& euro; ) and &#128 (& #128) should both work, iirc... and do for my browser at least
