so you are using our server resources without contribution to the expenses of the site thus increasing the cost for everyone else.
it's obvious that it doesnt make sense that you pay for something you can already steal
once before,i ran poly without add blocks to help out. like i did with several other sites i like. besides the spyware and tracking cookies i picked up,and the britney spear adds(and on a family site ) one thing led to another and i had to reinstall windows because it was to corrupted. almost certainly your adds were not directly responsible and i am not accusing you of anything-but they certainly helped,along with every other site spamming stuff into my system. the net is simply to toxic to use without running so much security that it feels like fort knox in here,at least with windows
i am not sacrificing my puter to help poly.
btw the data center our server is in has a total connection of 10 Gbps
slightly higher than mine,but mine isnt hosting apolyton,which would lower your available resources drasticly hmm? my serv is currently not hosting any major products,not like this

Disappointing????? You just said that somebody else has given this to you for "free"... and you leave the ads on for them... but here, you don't even leave the ads on, yet the risk is the same, but you still want special rights that others don't get...
The owners here have kept the site free to all. For people who are willing to freely contribute, they give them some special perks... but ALL the content here is available to EVEYBODY for FREE. They demand nothing.
If you want "special" perks, don't you think you should give them something for it? Hell, you even block the ads but you are disappointed that you don't get special treatment...

we never had custom titles, we kept a civ tone to the forums. plus, our (volunteering their free time) staff (and i use the term due to the proffessional behaviour) have enough workload to moderate forums, the last thing we need is to have them moderate custom titles...

I had begun working on my response below before either Markos' or Cataphract's latest posts were published. Some of what I address has already been touched upon now, but I'm going to leave my response "as is".

There is no, as you say, "pay or else" attitude here when it comes to PLUS.
Just as you have the choice whether or not to subscribe to some level of PLUS (of course we are biased on this point ), we have the choice what to offer those who take out any PLUS subscription and what lifetime subscribers get above and beyond that if anything. We have chosen custom titles are one of those 'beyond' extras.
As you have already alluded to, lifetime subscriptions are not the only options available when it comes to being a PLUS member. You can subscribe to PLUS for as little as $2US/month. The offers are on the table: you can accept, outright reject or not even respond to one or more of them. Again, your choice.
