Yes, I am. That's all I really wanted.

I'd like to thank Markos, Ming, and Rah for considering my suggestion and giving it thoughtful responses. I'm a bit taken aback by some of the hostility that I received, but in the end I am satisfied with their responses.

I think some posters should be limited to 2 OT threads per month.

The two-limit thread helps promote variety in the OT.

Now all we need to do is couple that with the interesting (read: spammy) threads not being deleted outright.

Gee, let's look at your first post...

In a period where mod abuse is becoming more frequent...

ideal weapon for an insecure mod...

We've already seen such unjust banning for less based on personal bias...
Now who is the one being hostile here

That's not hostility. That's statement of cold hard fact. Mod abuse has been more frequent. If it doesn't rain for months in a desert, but then rains for a few days, I consider that more frequent.

As for the insecure mod, I have my suspicions, but I clearly stated that it was a potential abuse, thus a potential situation. It's not hostile to any mods, unless they happen to be insecure.

As for the unjust banning, that again is statement of fact. Perhaps it was dealt with behind closed doors, but the surge of avatars representing the abuse at the time clearly put it in a position of being unjust.

That's an "opinion"... not a cold hard fact.

I think the term suspicions sums this up

Again... opinion, not fact. Just because he lined up some people to support his cause by using avatars doesn't make it fact. But it does proves that there are gullible people out there

DaShi, is your petition posted on popular demand (since you don´t do it for self-gratification) or are you just bored?

Re: Petition To Have Thread Limit in OT Removed

Dear Dashi, I shall counter your propisition to petition a removal of the two thread limit rule, firstly by refuting the arguments laid out by you, and secondly by exhibiting supportive arguments of my own. And finally, by presenting a proposition of my own.

                        Your arguments were the following:

                        1. It is only enforced by active mods deleting or closing extra threads.
I must reject this argument by pointing out that the moderators of Apolyton Civilization Site do not have inactive periods as a team. They are situated on three continents across the globe, they have access to internet twenty-four on seven and they are fully committed to neglect their families and day-time jobs to fulfil their duty as moderator.

                        2. Most posters don't post more than a thread a day or less.
This group of Apolyton Civilization Forums users you are referring towards does not represent a group that creates most of the content of the Off-Topic section in the Apolyton Civilization Forums. The rule is directed towards a small, over-hyperactive group of Apolyton Civilization Forums users that have wired directly linked to their braincells in order to translate every thought into a post or a thread. It is in order to cull this group that the limit exists.

                        3. Most posters do care about Apolyton and have no desire to harm the forums themselves.
Most Apolyton Civilization Forums users, yet not all Apolyton Civilization Forums users. There exists a menacing minority that does desire to harm the forums, and however small this group may be, it must be culled. In this regard, I refer you to terrorists, who, despite the fact they're a miniscule band, are dangerous to the fabric of society. We must not and cannot exclusively rely on the good intentions of the majority.

Now I shall bring forward supportive arguments.

                        I. The two thread limit rule emits an unmistakable indication that nonsensical over-posting is socially unacceptable behaviour. Moreover, it encourages Apolyton Civilization Forums users to create more meaningful and constructive threads.

II. While Apolyton Civilization Forums users who nonsensically over-post cannot be restrained from posting in existing threads, then at least they can be restrained from creating new breeding grounds for their nonsensical over-posting.

III. It does not affect the majority of the Apolyton Civilization Forums users, who are decent, law-abiding folks, who do not have a desire to profilate themselves on virtual clectronic communities. If the two thread limit rule does not benefit, then at least it does harm either.

And finally I present to you my own proposal.

I propose that all Apolyton Civilization Forums users are limited in the number of posts they may rightfully create each day, in order to cull the menacious minority's nonsensical over-posting behaviour more effectively.

                        Kind regards

Nahhhh... this is just your classic "DaShi baiting the mods and Admin" game. The good news is, he does it right. His strategy of plausable issues is far better than most of the moronic versions of the game that we have come to ignore

On this one, I will give him a 7.5 rating... and for that, I will play along with him
