    I get:

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

    Help!

You can't just view XML files in a web browser unless they have an associated style sheet (which 99% of RSS feeds do not). Add them as a LiveBookmark in firefox or copy the URL into an RSS aggregator.

as for thunderbird: i have added it but need new news to know whether it updates.

does anybody know how i can change the order of my email accounts in thunderbird? i'd like the news higher up in the list..
i get the updated news (which is basically the whole civilization4.net page) when i click on it but i don't get a sign that shows me about new news items (like unread mail). don't know if this feature exists in order live-bookmark thingies, but here it doesn't.
        i guess i'll stick to FF live-bookmarks

ok, i was comparing with a formula1-site where it seems to work:

one possible difference is the lastBuildDate tag which is
            Code:
            < lastBuildDate>Sat, 24 Sep 2005 23:55:45 -0400< /lastBuildDate>
            for ACS and
            Code:
            < LastBuildDate>Sun, 24 Sep 2005 20:33:00 MET DST< /LastBuildDate>
on that site. for me ATM. the latter seems more like the standard?!?

another difference is the lack of GUID for the news items.
and again the pubDate which have different formatting

the last thing was following in the ACS feed right at the end:
            Code:
            		.........
            		< /item>
            		1
            	< /channel>
            < /rss>
that '1' looks a bit lost to me

            cheers!

Oy... And that from the man who implemented it. Doesn't sound too promising
