  • thread views, please clarify

in the fora, the threads are listed with number of replies, and number of views. Does views count a given register member only once (regardless of how many times he views that thread) or will it count the same user again, if he logs off in the meantime, if a new reply is added etc.

I ask, because while Im sure it doesnt count each view, the number of views (And implicit number of "lurkers") on the Paradox games subforum seems unrealistically high, relative to the amount of posting, etc.

I'm pretty sure it counts each view, no matter who it is. It might be a time limit before one single user is counted again though, I don't know.

It's each view, even if the same person looks at the thread twice. And there's no time limit.

If you go into a thread and then use the "back" option to get out of it then it doesn't seem to count as a view. At least that has been my experience so far.

EDIT: okay I've tested it again and I was wrong.

It counts each unique time you load the page. If you sit there hitting F5, it will likely boost a thread's views. Now, go have fun.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

It's number of views as Skanky said, and the latter point is explained by the fact that the same people view the threads over and over as they all remain on the first page forever.
