@Kuci: Unlike certain people who I shan't name, I rarely post entirely mindless spam on Eventis.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?
It's no good (from an evolutionary point of view) to have the physique of Tarzan if you have the sex drive of a philosopher. -- Michael Ruse

I use this site (and my games in CTP & CIVIII) like others use Alcohol or Fishing or whatever your particular recreation is.
I have my Grandson to play with on weekends sometimes (today we spent the day going to his first ever petting zoo's and wouldnt trade that experience for anything)
I work long hours managing a very busy tension filled market in the Ready Mix Industry
It is fun for me
I am usually at a very hectic pace so this is nothing, very relaxing for the most part.
Thats why I enjoy Apolyton the most because it is very enjoyable

Given that this site has been online for quite some years, I can't see why it would go offline anytime soon. The Civ franchise will continue, or at least something similar to Civ games, the community will keep the interest... why not. I can quite see Apolyton online in 2010 and 2015.
Got to admit, though, it's so much of a home online for me that losing this site would be quite sad - there are many sites I visit regularly, a few that I realy like a lot, but there is only one that is like home, and this it is.
Solver - you said it all in the second post.

She knows me, while the Lord Jesus is working on my temperment, she knows I need some recreation and would rather I am here
than smoking Crack or PCP or Cocaine or Pot or Crystal Meth
Yes folks
It wasnt that long ago when I lived with Bikers and Bounced and was a rather rough character

Yes, quite a character.
Perhaps our paths will cross in Civ4.
Wait till you meet the Japanese in "handshake", Gramps my friend.
Thanks for sharing GT. You are indeed courageous. And if you are going to have an addiction, Civ is not a bad one to have.
Peace.
And btw, speaking of meeting folks, Big Furry Monster came to visit me here in Toronto last year. It was a lot of fun to meet, get to know one another, and chat about the early days of the PTWDG. And besides, he uses a picture of one of my cats as his avatar now.
