  • Weird Mac Firefox bug.

I can't seem to get the forum to recognize line breaks in my posts. I've tried to do it here, but it hasn't worked. When I edit the post to try to fix it, I get garbage text where I pressed the "Return" key. This hasn't happened at any other forum I post at. Any ideas? I get the garbage text "& # 1 0 ; & # 1 0 ;" (but without the spaces) when I edit the post.

Does it work when you use line-breaks despite the fact that they don't display properly?
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Clearly, it's a plot to chase away the evil Mac users.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

The line breaks don't work at all, and only on Apolyton. Everything else is fine.

I'm writing this in Safari, which works fine.

          Create a Bugzilla account: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/createaccount.cgi

          Report the bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_b...&format=guided

See if someone else can reproduce it, and if so they can reduce a test case and see if it's a Poly bug or a Firefox for Mac bug.

Also, with a Bugzilla account you can vote for bugs you deem most important, set up a list of tracking bugs you want to keep track of, etc. I have about 50 bugs on my list, whenever one is updated (progress made, question, etc) I get an email to one of my gmail "bugs" labels (skips the inbox).

How the hell did you manage to pick up that much spam? My GMail account never gets spammed.

I'm forwarding email from my old shaw.ca account, and it has tons of spam (as you can see). I see spam get around the gmail filter maybe 1 message a week, and I get about 1400/month in spam, so it's very good.

I searched and didn't see an existing bug like this.

You should report the bug, attach a screenshot, and see what the triage folks have to say.

It might have to do with internationalization issues...like are you typing in charsets like Unicode, when Apolyton by default isn't Unicode?

Try View -> Character Encoding -> Unicode

OK. But I use Unicode on Safari (have to for the Greek stuff), and it works perfectly. I had tried changing the encoding, but was looking in the wrong place. So if this post has a line break it has worked (switched to MacRoman).

                    Try this

                    Hmmm

OK. Problem solved. I just turned on the auto detect encoding feature. At least it worked. Thanks for the help.
