Then you've missed something. Check out the Civ2 news page, there you'll find a link in the overview on the left.

Spike- that just shows that you're a newbie

Everyone knew about the viking scribes back in 2000... and that's when they were OLD!

I think they started in 1998. I know I first discovered them in Aug 1999 or so They're great pieces of literary work!

I found them long before I found the forums. I registered in October 2000, so it must have been at least in the start of 2000, if not earlier.

              /me shrudders.
Well, at least I will be in comapny of good men. Besides, I will be only 20...!

But to think of how many years it is since I joined(relatively, internet isn't that old), and how much longer it is since I found the forums and lurked...

...I too wish I hadn't lurked so long... but eh, ce'est'le'vi.

I could have had a Aug 1999 registration time and probably another 2000 posts, but then I wouldn't have been able to meet you, Christantine, Seeker, CornMaster, etc. in the Civ III-Suggestions section!

Okay, one small ACS related confession related to the texts:

When I first acciedentally came here from ol' good AltaVista (searched something like "Civilization") and ended up in the Civ II. Found the Viking Scribes and read some of the online, but as I was on POTS dial-up, decided to print many of them as offline reading. Enjoyed them a lot back then. Also got some Civ II hints from them, despite they're just stories.

Oh, those were good ol' times...

I lurkered for a very long time (like a year) before I signed up.

Me too, at first I was on dial up and it was a bit expensive where I used to live so I didn´t register or spent much time at the site. Later I registered for some reason but didn´t post much.

You can still look after the geriatric CivNetters, if they haven't all died by now.

CivNet and CTP1 is actually the only civ games I haven't tried I think. But isn't CivNet the same as Civ1 only with MP?

I was here - visiting from CFC - a couple of times before registering, but I've never been the lurkery sort. Too many of you are unrepentant dolts who need to be set straight.

I think I registered after reading bits of Oerdin's Iraq thread. So, if you don't like me, he's to blame.
