Merge the Civ3 Conquests and general fora, merge the Civ3 PBEM and MP fora and create a turn tracking subforum.
And maybe start a PBEM I know a few people whom would like to play you (want to wager 1 months free Ply plus if you lose? )
And maybe get MZ to play the PTWDG I and II turns on time...You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

I checked my Firefox settings and I have a cookie called "bblastvisit" which is due to expire sometime in May 2005.
I have selected to accept cookies from the originating site only but accept them normally (not as session cookies).Creator of the Civ3MultiTool

Perhaps add a button that tells the server to replace the cookie with one containing the current data? Call it "Refresh Cookie Data", or something. This would also help against seeing my own posts as unread...
[edit]
Oops, there is a button marking al forums as read.
I haven't noticed it because I'm mostly in the Civ3 forum. This gave me an idea. Add a "Mark This Forum Read" button to all forums. This way I could kill the "unread" markers in a specific forum - one by one - if I want to. Also, if I only read one forum, this would act for me as the "Mark All Forums Read" button, which is not available inside the forums.

That value is updated when you logout, or haven't been browsing any forum page for a specific time. If you should use the lastvisit at all then no thread would be seen as unread, since you always would have visited more recently than any post that you can see have been posted.
What if you'd store a perm cookie with an md5 of the (previous) session hash and compare it with the current session id. If they are different, you could mark all those posts not read that happened after the users last action on the forum.
This would automark all forums as read, back when you closed the browser. Maybe make it an option?

If you write a post with an attachment and hit "Previev Reply", the attachment is lost. You then have to browse for it again. This is not only annoying, but has also caused many posts followed by a second post - only to actually attach the "lost" file.
The suggestion here: Make sure the attachment doesn't get lost when doing a preview of the post. Or, if it's possible, give us the option to add an attachment while editing our posts. Right now you can only change the attachment if there was one with the original post.Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

It would be good if moderators for the private forums (demogames) could reject applications from the authorisation list. We can authorise them or appoint them as news editor(? I'm guessing that also authorises them for access) but if they aren't allowed in the team their application just sits there in the list forever.
Thanks.I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

If I would, I wouldn't have PMed it, don't you think?
Not all matters are equally suitable for public announcement, my post merely serves as a reminder so that Markos doesn't forget about the issue if he actually composes a list using this thread (PMs are easy to forget once you've read them, especially if you tend to get a lot of them).
Now, I believe *someone* requested the spam in this thread be kept to a minimum...

I'd like to see the ability of civgroup leaders and/or game mods (such as in team games) to remove players from groups. In some cases people have been authorised who shouldn't have been (such as to the ACDG CMN group) and admins need to be called to remove them.

A "God" contest.
A monthly contest in which Apolytoners pay a small fee for a ticket. A winner is then drawn and receives superdupermoderator powers for one day. That means Mod ass is up for banning, as is everyone else's.
If you're interested in making money Markos, that one will be a sure fire winner.Only feebs vote.

The chance of money buying powers can really be abused, if granted.Be good, and if at first you don't succeed, perhaps failure will be back in fashion soon. -- teh Spamski
