A sub-forum for Civ III PBEM tracking?

First I think this thread is a great idea, and happy that I got my idea in early (thanks for the Link Mark!).

I have suggested this once before (HERE), but what I would like to see is a LAST ONLINE added to the buddy list, so that you could tell whether someone has been online recently.

I can think of many ways in which this would be usefull to a number of posters (and if they aren't currently using the Buddy List, I am sure they would start with this feature).
          • PBEM Games where a player is up in the game
          • Democracy Games where a persons opinion or role is waiting for them to be done
          • Forum Games where a persons orders are needed
          • People who post in a particular forum but suddenly dissappear, this would help to find out of this person is still posting

In short I think this would benefit a large section of the community, and as it is a feature (2 features) which are currently available, I assume it is possible to implement (The two features I refer to are the current buddy list and the "last online" which is shown in the PM list showing the time when a person was last online).

          Thanks for your consideration.
          /me

I would really appreciate if you could add the search function for the private forums Mark. The searching archive is also highly desired, but I'd put it behind the searching private forums.

Fix the "thread marked as unread" problem.
                1. I start Firefox and go for the Apolyton OT
                2. I click on a thread (e.g. Food fight by axi)
                3. The thread loads
                4. I close the browser
                5. I open the browser again
                6. I go to the Apolyton OT
                7. Food fight is marked as unread (red icon), even though nobody has posted there since I visited it, 15 seconds ago

I checked my Firefox settings and I have a cookie called "bblastvisit" which is due to expire sometime in May 2005.
I have selected to accept cookies from the originating site only but accept them normally (not as session cookies).

                The problem also exists if:
                1. I open Firefox and go to OT
                2. Load Food fight
                3. Go back to OT
                4. Thread is marked as read!!
                5. Close Browser
                6. Reopen and go to OT
                7. Thread is marked as not read!!

Also, for the find post button on top of each post, would it be possible for one to find the poster's post in private forums, if the searcher has the access to that private forum? This could be difficult to implement, I understand.

There's some other fine tunning that the demo game private forums can use too. For example, right now when a person clicked on a join link, he would be included in the member list of that team, even if he is not yet accepted into the private forum. This has caused several commotions in the ACDGIII when people clicked on multiple join links and their names appeared in multiple teams.

Also it would be very helpful if the private forum moderator could get a notice when somebody clicks on the join link, so they don't need to always remember to check who has applied and needs to be approved.

This was probably mentioned before, but what about increasing the number of "buddies" you can PM at once? Maybe increase it to 10? Could speed up some projects when creating with Civ...
