    Can you right click its tag and close it that way?

        The ad they're referring to has nothing to click...it appears in the middle of the browser window

          Just click on the "close X" button that is easily spottable in the screenshot that's provided in the first post...

            I sometimes also have some sort of annoying adds...they say "you're the 1.000.001st visitor on our site, you just won a free registration and will have access to all our pictures and movies".....

              Nicolai, I thought I was quite clear in my post that the ads I was getting (unlike the one pictured above) do not have a close (X) to click on.
              • they do not have an X (close) clickpoint on the upper right (or anywhere else); instead, they have a white band across the top of the ad containing only the word 'false' on the left;
              Perhaps the creators of the ads (God Bless 'em ), intended to give me a close button (which it is not always particularly advisable to use in ads anyway), but if so, their code was less than perfect (possibly the 'false' indicates that I don't have some enabling adware installed).

                That shot is only one of the ads that comes up. It's not nearly so easy to find on some of them

                  Hi moinex! Good to see you registered here at last. Just a good tip: Don't post the content of that site here, I have a feeling it'll violate the rules...

                    Perhaps you don't see a close button because you are using IE 5.0? It's been known for some time now that IE5.x has problems rendering pages that work fine in modern browsers. Maybe an upgrade is in order...

                    Firefox or Opera perhaps?

                          I haven't seen the ads with Firefox yet, but Opera has trouble with the ads as well

                          I haven't tried, but since the ad people are describing is appearing within the page itself, it's very unlikely that ctrl-alt-del will do anything...

                            Hm... I'm using both and haven't seen the ad, but if Opera ever does I'm going to make an Apolyton user stylesheet...
