Considering how much we have already, my guess is that it would take a whole heck of a lot of spam.

Must disagree. There are other places to discuss games, and lots of other places to hang out. With a handful of exceptions we are there cause we came for a game poly covers, and stayed. Some folk do leave. If we dont get fresh blood, OT and OG will lose critical mass. At some point even the stalwarts will move elsewhere (I mean its real hard to get a discussion going for any but the most popular historical wargames on OG - if we lost say 20% of our posters there and it became hard to discuss other more niche oriented games, i would have to face up to the fact that i really should be talking games at another forum) So we need fresh blood, from whatever games Poly is covering. (Id like to see Poly beef up its coverage of Paradox games - that would improve the quality around here considerably )

I've been known to deliver the odd high quality pun myself. Yours could have been butchered; it's all in the delivery. Watch Skanky Burns for fine examples of over the top poor punning.
How long will 'Poly last? How long will New York last? How long will any community last? The answer is that they will last as long as people are willing to contribute, the community as a whole stays with the times, and there are attractive features to draw new people into the community.
Just as IRL, I miss those that are gone and welcome new arrivals, but this interchange of people and personality tend to keep things vibrant. 'Poly does a good job at this.
There really is no time limit for 'Poly's survival...it is really up to the citizens of this benevolent oligarchy.

Poly needs to do something about the male-female ratio if it wants to have offspring.
