  • Settler http unavailiability - 06 Aug 04

An web service outage lasting 3 hours and 4 minutes just ended.

After this morning's apache log rotation, there was a malfunction on the process of apache's restart. Apache seemed to run but not actually serve any pages, fooling our server monitoring script (which alerts me on my mobile)

I actually tried to browse Apolyton via my ipaq earlier but the possibility didnt cross my mind and throught it was a problem of the mobile connection

An additional external alert system has been setup

    Glad it wasnt´something worse
Now if MZO worked too I would be happier... what is the chance that the 2 forums I use most crash at the same time?

You scared me by making me think access to 'Poly had been blocked by the powers that be in computing services.

So it was the e-mail I sent you that alerted you?

Maybe you could add "External Alert System Manager" to your title.

Oh well, at least I missed the bigger outage.
                    Good luck with your hunt.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I also did some packet dumping. It was funny, it always passed the tcp 3 way handshake but did not respond to any http get request that followed it.
