The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.
25 themes/skins/styles are now available to members. Check the select drop-down at the bottom-left of each page.

If someone hasn't posted in 5 years, I think it's safe to delete their login.
Deleting old logins will paradoxically increase the load on the server. It will be used to search through and delete entries from the database after all. Of course, once you have deleted these names, then you get the added bonus of no added change in server speed.
This doesn't even take into account the fact that there is a very real risk that these people who haven't posted may want to come back to the site. May be lurking even now, perhaps.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I think it's easy to see when the last post is (unless it's in a private forum). though there probably is no tool for doing this for over 20,000 (or however we have now). So it would be time consuming.
If they want to post again, they can re-register. With any luck their original name will be availlable.
Plus it would free up some cool names. I hate it when I want to choose a cool name for something, and it's already taken
The database stores when someone has last posted, so it would be a single SQL command to determine who it is. It would still waste CPU cycles on our already stretched server and not benefit server speed once it is done.
Besides, original names are best.

well, looking at how many registered users exist with 0 posts, these could be deleted.
but afaik it won't be done because we don't want to sink below CFCs number of posts and users in the "big boards forum" race (see this thread).
(we've already fallen back to 170th (time for CIV) and CFC is just 10% behind us....)

/me considers the concept of deleting old logins...
Ming will be assigned the duty of deleting old logins - as Markos is too busy taking Greece to the World Cup finals in Champ Manager. Miraculously and accidently Ming will press a wrong button that deletes all logins with over 10,000 posts, including his own. He will then create his new log-in and give himself the post count he thinks he had (yeah, I was close to 30,000 thinks Ming). He will proceed to ignore all claims by ex-deities for post counts to be transferred back on the grounds that it would be too much effort, that they didn't deserve such high spamcounts, or that they were otherwise ineligible for reconstitution of there spamcount.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.
