PLUS users get small benefits, and few members pay for them because they are worth the fee - I know I cough up in order to support the site I enjoy posting at, not for the benefits. It is through the actions of those that feel the same way as me that you get a site that functions well, so please, pretty please, shut the hell up.

I'm not only spamming here. I'm also an active member of SL community. That's some contribution to this site too.
And it's not one-sided. This site can not exist without free members. At least for now.

Mark knows this site could not exist without free members. Which is probably why he has said on numerous occasions that he would not make it a pay-site and information would be available to all members, paying or otherwise.

I could almost buy into what you're saying there, Heresson, except for the fact that there are other ways to go PLUS.

I, for one, have not paid a cent to 'poly directly, but simply done normal shopping through the US Amazon link that Mark has posted. That helps out the site, I've been doing it with every purchase ever since I found out I could do it that way.

I mean, I bought a Nuke t-shirt, but I would have gotten that somewhere else if not from 'poly just because I liked the slogan so much... it makes me smile every time I think of it. (family jokes, and the classic CivII jokes included).

If there weren't other ways to become PLUS, I'd wholeheartedly agree, though. So far, I haven't caught myself using any of the features except for being able to post in different threads at almost the same time (that whole 30-second lag was annoying...)

Anyway, there's my add-on, from a paying yet not paying PLUS member...

Yeah I could have. If you had politely made some comments about your feelings I would have responded in kind. But you didn't. You called the person whose hard work is crucial to this site 'evil'. So yeah, I responded impolitely to what was a pretty stupid post.

It is pretty good. It seems faster than before and the PM extension is very nice. I used to fill up my PMs far too quickly.

do I get to apply what I paid for my year subscription towards that..its still got a few months left?

Additionally, I thought it would be neat in the place where "LIFER" is if a special "ETERNAL" was available for Life time members whom also were Dieties?

if you go to the PLUS pages http://apolyton.net/plus/ now and proceed to buy a lifetime subscription, what you have already paid for your current subscription will count towards lifetime. so you'll have lower price

you will see the price prior to clicking on the "buy now" button....
