we're all renewed automatically but if you mean how can the commish renew their league idk, cant remember but I'm sure the commish gets a renew button highlighted

Yahoo sent me an email with options to renew league. I clicked yes, same league. That took me to the league's web page, where I edited the year in the league name.
BTW in the app, I do get standard commissioner tools -- editing league settings, rosters and such. But I rarely use the Yahoo phone app except for viewing real-time results.

So, our usual date to start the draft is right around August 15th. It was 8/16 last year, 8/14 in '23. The entire draft usually takes about 10-12 days. We finished on 8/26 last year.

This year, there are a couple mitigating factors: First game is early (TH 9/4), which puts the 2nd week of preseason games after the start of the draft. Not a big deal, but not optimal. In addition, my wife informs me we will likely have a road trip the last week of August. Plus we have other managers with travel plans.

So I'm suggesting an earlier start this year, maybe Tuesday 8/12. How does that sound to everyone?

I fly to Seattle for the World Science Fiction Convention on August 14th and don't come back until Sunday evening on the 17th. I will have my computer and can be reached by text messages... but I won't be paying attention to it like I normally do when I'm at home. There could be some delays in my picks depending on the order and who I'm before and after.

We're not worried about delays, as long as they are reasonable. With celphones, texts, Yahoo, Poly, and a little patience, we should be able to keep things moving through the early rounds without resorting to BAPAY.

Looks like we have a quorum that's all good to start on the 12th of August, so let's plan on that.

BTW, if there are any thoughts on changes to our settings, we are now in the time period for that sort of thing. So if you have thoughts, post them here.

My plan is to not change anything - although I confess I have note really reviewed the commish settings menu to see if Yahoo added any new options.

I've done my cheat sheets, but knowing the order will help me plan while I'm on vacation

That will happen Tuesday. As usual, in this thread, I'll create a seed list (random) of the teams, then request a league member to post the numbers 1-10 in a random order in this thread. First one posted will be used to generate the draft order, which I will then use to start the actual draft thread.

At that point, the draft itself will start.

As usual, we're going with a No-BAPAY policy for the first 3 rounds (at least!) to accommodate folks with limited access.

Everyone should have received a league email tonight via Yahoo to remind them that we're starting the draft this Tuesday. 8/12.
