NFL, even college ball... enough of the 3 teams games

by 3 team games i mean rulings on the field when it comes to catches. ALL these reviews of catches. 10 years ago, these would be GREAT catches. now, it's endless reviews. AND - some go one way - some go the other way. It's like watching 3 teams play - the home team, the visitor team and the officiating team. enough is enough. this is taking something away from the game. MWHC is not one to post here in sports form but i do like a good game - between TWO teams.

You can get a call right or you can make it quickly. But I think it's pretty clear that you can't have them both. At least not consistently.

Frankly, I'd be fine with enshrining some human error from officials as a permanent thing, except for the fact that there's no way some of those officials aren't compromised -- whether by gambling, simple favoritism-slash-hatred of certain teams, or whatever. We've also seen many a game and even some championships won and lost based on bad calls.

I think some video help in getting calls right is smart and worthwhile - although it varies by sport. And now I'm seeing officials changing the way they call a game because of "coach's challenge" issues. And that sucks.

I'm in favor of strict time limits on any challenged call. Because I agree that the current growing pains are making several sports a lot less fun to waste my time on.
