AS an alumnus of both Kansas and Wichita State Universities, I have a fairly avid interest in the Big Dance. It's Conference Tournament week, so lets kick it off.
A #1 seed vs a #2 or #3 seed. Gee, which should last longer? Come to think of it, which one did better last year? Which one has more senior leadership?
That said, I would hate to be the #1 that had Kansas in their bracket. They rely a lot on freshmen, but two of these guys could go in the first three picks next June. It depends on how well Embiid recovers from his back injury.
Looking at the bracket, what does the committee have against Wichita State? Yikes. Kentucky, Louisville, Duke have recent national championships and UL has been on an hellacious roll. Throw in Michigan, who was in the running for a #1 seed.
In comparison Virginia gets Villanova, Iowa State, Michigan State. Iowa state is my tournament dark horse. The game I want to see is Kansas vs Florida for a trip to the Final Four. The game I fear is Wichita State vs Louisville in Sweet 16.
Is it wrong to be happy because I never liked Duke?
