I saw your imploring plea for replies on O/T (which I seldom venture into) so here goes.....

        A. I know nothing about cricket.
        B. I know even less about Australian Cricket (is there another kind?...see point A)
        C. As a Canadian, I like to think I know more about curling and hockey than most of the rest of the world, but that logic should mean I know more about Lacrosse too (somehow that is Canada's national sport I think). I kind of tend to think of Lacrosse as being a strange cousin to Cricket, Polo and Rugby (Sports I also know nothing about).....well I shouldn't say I know nothing about Polo, I know it somehow combines Horses and Water.
        D. I post a lot more in sports than I do in O/T, so please keep the questions coming

The Australians need to find a few good Indian bowlers, and then hire away one of those Pakistani batsmen who's good for a few sixes when you need them. Of course then it wouldn't really be the Australian team anymore, but perhaps you can lure them away with an offer of citizenship and universal health care?

We already tried that, they plucked some guy fresh out of a detention centre and are threatening to pick him, seriously

England have been picking Saffers for years, so doing what is needed when desperation strikes is acceptable.

You know things are crook when a young county player who can play for either England or Australia chooses England

i'l just say that I think Australia is number one still - they are just missing many of their key players (symonds, lee, stuart clark).
