That's the link to the live broadcast of the Semi-pro football team I volunteer for. I played with most of these guys for a few years before 'retiring'. I now run the scoreboard for home games.

A little info on the game: Both teams are 7-0. They are the #1 and #2 offenses and defenses in the league. It should be a great game.

And I'm sorry I didn't mention that it is the Rock County Rage that I used to play for.

They won, btw, 55-16. We will most likely play these guys again in the 'Ironbowl' 5 weeks from now. The really cool thing, is if we run the table, and that looks like a distinct possibility, the team could get invited to play for a semi-pro AA national championship in Florida.

I caught some of the 3rd and 4th quarter, stopped a while after it was 48-16. Some of the Hurricanes supporters were overly loud as the announcer noted.

That's actually very helpful to know. Were they much of a distraction or just background noise? How much could you hear of the conversations going on in the booth?

There seemed to be one or two women in particular that would periodically drown out the announcer. I found it quite annoying but then they would be quiet for a while. Most of the rest seemed to be a minor distraction in comparison. The PA guy would also drown out the booth. So at times it was difficult/impossible to hear the booth.

The cameras in the second quarter were practically useless, sun was shining right into them.

OK, so Pearly, the PA, is a bit loud? I think we all knew that! He's actually a great announcer. He personally knows a lot of the players so we give then crap over the PA during the game. He also has 100,000s of songs and audio clips that we use during the game. Anytime the refs got together to discuss a call he'd play the Jeopardy theme. A rage TD brings out a roaring beast scream. Late in the game he started playing 'Buttercup' by the Foundations. It's a song the Wisconsin Badgers would play during the pre big ten season started when they play a bunch of nobodies. It's really a huge insult to the Hurricanes. I think they either didn't notice or were so soundly put in there place by the game that they couldn't say anything about it. Pearly also does a great job of promoting sponsors and firing up the crowd. So, yeah, he's loud; but I wouldn't want to change anything about him.

Regarding the camera's, I don't know if they can do it, but I'll make the suggestion to move one of them to the other side of the field.

By the way, I realize the game turned out to be much more of a blowout than I thought it would, but to try to keep you guys interested, the team they play next saturday (8/17 at 7 central) they only beat by 5 points earlier in the year. They also lost to the team the Rage just beat, but only by 2 points. After this week, the Southern Lake Blue Devils are the #2 offense and defense in the league. They are also our #1 rival (and have been since the days when I played). I have a feeling it will be a closer contest than this game was. Check in next week also. I will be in Florida for vacation next week so I'll finally get to see a game on the computer.

FYI- The Rage are in the Ironbowl Championship game right now. It is not being broadcast and I'm not there. It's my daughters 8th birthday party and it's a sleepover so I'm helping the wife manage eight 8 year old girls. They generate ALOT of noise. Anyway, the game is about half way through the 2nd and the Rage is down 14-7.

And that's the way it goes into halftime. Rage down 14-7 against the same team you guys watched them destroy a few weeks ago.
