Not that I'd ever suggest that I could teach the Troll King anything, but the _proper_ way to troll-pick the Canucks is to pick SJ to win the first round.

You're stating the obvious, Sava. Are you going to, perhaps, post a guess?

Some interesting notes about Pittsburgh... Pascal Dupuis had 20 goals. Only half of those (10) were against teams in the playoffs. And half of those were against the New York Islanders (5).

Chris Kunitz had 22 goals. Only half of those (11) were against teams currently in the playoffs. 7 of those 11 goals came in 2 games. A hat trick versus the Islanders. A 4 goal game versus the Capitals.

James Neal had 21 goals. Less than half of those were against teams currently in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh's success depends on Crosby and Malkin making things happen. Both are banged up. I'm betting against them.

and now watch them win the cup because i said this

It always seems like I am trying to do this at the last minute before the playoffs start....but I think I am on time (or almost?)

                          WEST

                          #8 MIN vs #1 CHI - Hawks in 6

#6 SJS vs #3 VAN - San Jose in 6
#5 LAK vs #4 STL - St Louis in 5

                          EAST

                          #8 NYI vs #1 PIT - NYI in 7
                          #7 OTT vs #2 MTL - Montreal in 6
                          #6 NYR vs #3 WSH - Washington in 6
                          #5 TOR vs #4 BOS - Boston in 5

WESTERN CHAMP = St Louis Blues
                          EASTERN CHAMP = Washington Capitals

STANLEY CUP CAMPION = Washington Capitals

I'm intentionally trying to go off the board here, as it seems that everyone else is predicting a Chicago / Pittsburgh final

                            I just don't see it... chi/pit

When is the last time two number one seeds met in the finals?

Since seeding started in 93-94, it's only happened once. Doesn't mean it won't. But it seems rare.

I hear you... but no matter what stats I looked at... the match ups... Chicago and Pitt are the dominate teams.
I would have picked Chicago no matter what But I kept looking for a team better than Pitt in the West, and simply couldn't.

Maybe you should have tried checking the east?
