The league average for on-base percentage has varied considerably over time; in the modern era it is around .340
Dustin Pedroia .382
Andrew McCutchen .377
Evan Longoria .376
Matt Holliday .386
Andrew McCutchen .377
Billy Beane ball. They have to get on base before any other good stat comes into play. I'm keying off of OBP, for better or worse.
Ozzy, this is the stat that led me to say that I had Fielder and Votto rated ahead of Pujols, and naturally Miguel Cabrera with his baseball leading .426.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

I never really go in with much of a strategy. I guess I generally go for balance. So far though I've been kind of pressed for time when drafting so haven't really crunched the numbers like usual. So I've been going from the gut a bit more. And... drafting lots of Tigers and Nats...Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

First bit of stats for the year! Since I keep track of things every year in the same spreadsheet I can now compare how various players fare from year to year. It is interesting to track players who slowly decline, slowly rise, or jump around wildly every year.

I'm not going to say BAPAY or gripe this year, other than right now. There are spots where it could go smoother.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Since you've been real good about not griping this year (appreciated) I'll be nice to you and give you the one stat you care about the most: average draft time!
Here is the list of how many minutes it takes for each person to draft. Since JD went first I didn't count him for the first round. Now, these numbers require several caveats. Obviously it is much easier for illram and JD who have to pick half as much as the rest of us. Also, I wasn't 100% sure how to handle people leaving lists. If the list was left with someone nearby in the draft order who would post their own picks as well as the picks of those with a list I credited the time to the person posting and gave 0 minutes to the person who left the list. When someone left a list with someone who wasn't picking for himself I put the whole time elapsed on the list giver instead of giving them zero. Obviously time passed there and that needs to be ackonoledged. And heck, if the list giver was smart they would have given it to someone who also had a pick which would have probably sped things forward. In any event, I indicated who left a list for whom, so you can reach your own conclusions. Finally, a raw minute count isn't entirely fair since we do all need to sleep. We shouldn't judge someone for taking 9 hours to pick when the last pick was at midnight.
But, with all those caveats out of the way, here is the list:
Code:1 Berz 8 2 Ozzy 19 3 Sloww 22 4 Mike 123 5 Fist 11 6 Guy 333 7 illram 199 8 guy 99 9 Fist 10 10 Mike 53 11 Sloww 21 12 Ozzy 16 13 Berz 15 14 JD 340 15 Berz 23 16 Ozzy 0 List to Sloww 17 Sloww 7 18 Mike 96 19 Fist 10 List to Sloww 20 Guy 91 21 illram 14 22 guy 11 23 Fist 147 24 Mike 612 25 Sloww 98 List to Guy 26 Ozzy 15 27 Berz 38 28 JD 17 29 Berz 23 30 Ozzy 8 31 Sloww 2 List to Guy 32 Mike 468 33 Fist 71 34 Guy 464 35 illram 0 List to Guy 36 guy 0 37 Fist 4 38 Mike 285 39 Sloww 33 40 Ozzy 99 41 Berz 18 42 JD 555 43 Berz 2 List to JD 44 Ozzy 16 45 Sloww 237 46 Mike 715 47 Fist 3 48 Guy 197 49 illram 75 50 Guy 0 List to Fist 51 Fist 219 52 Mike 601 53 Sloww 0 List to Ozzy 54 Ozzy 57 55 Berz 346 56 JD 115 57 Berz 16 58 Ozzy 88 59 Sloww 0 List to Ozzy 60 Mike 594 61 Fist 64 62 Guy 49 63 illram 93 64 Guy 0 List to Fist 65 Fist 24 66 Mike 110 67 Sloww 164 68 Ozzy 5 69 Berz 145 70 JD 195 71 Berz 20 72 Ozzy 619 73 Sloww 6 74 Mike 191 75 Fist 29 76 Guy 220 77 illram 93 78 Guy 249 79 Fist 1 List to Sloww 80 Mike 890 81 Sloww 0 List to Ozzy 82 Ozzy 4 83 Berz 320 84 JD 29 85 Berz 9 86 Ozzy 18 87 Sloww 0 List to Ozzy 88 Mike 22 89 Fist 275 90 Guy 488 91 illram 0 List to Fist 92 Guy 0 List to Fist 93 Fist 10 94 Mike 617 95 Sloww 82 96 Ozzy 39 97 Berz 57 98 JD 396 99 Berz 0 List to Ozzy 100 Ozzy 235 101 Sloww 20 102 Mike 263 103 Fist 128 104 Guy 163 105 illram 179 106 Guy 8 107 Fist 145 108 Mike 787 109 Sloww 0 List to Ozzy 110 Ozzy 72 111 Berz 291 112 JD 7 113 Berz 29 114 Ozzy 31 115 Sloww 0 List to Ozzy 116 Mike 649 117 Fist 36 118 Guy 125 119 illram
