  • I did. Mike Wallace and Pierre Thomas were both out. But in general my team is limping along in recent weeks.

He has Aaron Rodgers so he's not exactly depending on Johnny Knox.

      • Alby, can't I even tease Ozzy without you riding in on your stallion of ersatz expertise?

I'm just saying Johnnie Knox isn't even rostered in two leagues I play in. Granted, they are less than 14-team leagues, but they have deeper benches and plenty of Chicago fans.

        • Is 39 yards receiving too much to ask for from Welker?

          I guess it is.

****. I just lost out on the #1 seed.

            • I was lucky to win as long as I did. My team probably "deserves" to be a two or three loss team.

              • My 2011 fantasy teams are 28-16 (.636), which I think is roughly typical for me.

My 2010 ones were 38-9 (.808). My other awesome year was 2007, where I was 25-7 (.781) but I have been in the .400s for a year before. 2008 was the worst.

                  • My points for. I just checked and I should be 4-7 right now, assuming a back-7 performance meant a loss and a top-7 performance meant a win. I had one undeserved loss and 3 undeserved wins.

And Berz, only 24 player moves? Where you at, dog?

Yeah, SparrowHawk had a terrible week against me. Really pulled down the PAR (Points Against Rabbit) average -- to about 162.

It's still 115 points (10+ ppg) more than has been scored against anyone else.

                        • Ugh, I don't know what the hell the deal is with waiver wire stuff. I tried to pick up the Oakland D a week ago, and it didn't go through. So a few days ago I tried to pick up the Carolina D. It also didn't go through. Now I see that the Flashtastics took them. Arrgghh!! What the hell is the problem here?

                          • The system assigns the designed player to the claiming team with the highest waiver priority (lowest number). Once you get a player on waivers, you move to the lowest priority. The system prevents overeager vultures (looking at people like me, Berz, Alby, Zopper and Kenobi) from grabbing all the attractive waiver wire/free agent pickups while others are busy having actual lives.

Over at IDP League, we run the "Wild West" system. Whoever gets there first, wins. It can be just as frustrating and is probably more unfair - like when you have a key starter injured, but his backup is already on Berz' team by the time you find out about it.

                            • ****.

The Bills announced Wednesday that running back Fred Jackson will miss the Jets game because of his “lower right leg” injury. It’s another depressing blow to a team that already lost cornerback Terrence McGee and wideout Donald Jones for the season this week.
This Bills squad didn’t have a great margin for error because of their struggling defense and overall lack of talent. It seems like injuries (and opposing defenses) have simply caught up to them.
UPDATE: The Buffalo News writes that Jackson could miss the rest of the season.
