No, audibles are great, but having the same one ('Kill') and doing it over and over again smacks of strategic incompetence, something I'd never usually accuse Brees of.

Maybe he had a headache and couldn't remember any other audible signals.

For the Cowboys, when Romo says "kill kill kill" he is signaling the team to run the second play called in the huddle instead of the first play called in the huddle, so he isn't signaling the same play ever time he uses "kill." It is probably the same for the Saints.

Yea, it's the same for the Saints. Sean Payton (who worked for Dallas in the past) calls two plays that Brees relays in the huddle. "Kill" signals the second play called.

This system sort of works better than the audible system because it doesn't give away any secret codes like "Pistol", "Omaha", "Red 1-80" or whatever...

Yes, Chris Collinsworth even talked about it in the broadcast... Kill means go to the second play called in the huddle.

Considering that he did it so much though, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were 'false' Kills to trick the defense into adjusting.

I always found it hilarious when certain commentators (like Collinsworth) would give away a team's audible code by saying what they mean like literally saying there's that call again. When the quarterback says such and such, it means the receiver will go into a slant.

I doubt that Collinsworth is giving away anything that the opposing coaches don't already know. They seem to generally be on top of things as much as a commentator.

Giants look like last year... no running game but pass, pass, pass. And a lot of ugly deflections. Both Eli's INT's came off of deflections.

Also, great game so far for the Titans' Vince Young.

Well, one half and the Lions season is already ruined. That was quicker than usual.

Seriously, I must have some sort of mental illness. Every year, EVERY YEAR, some tiny little spark in my brain says, "Maybe, just maybe, if the o-line comes together, and the defense can avoid giving up the big play, and they can avoid turnovers, this good be a great year! After all, the Saints won it!"

And then, BOOM. First ****ing half of the first ****ing game, lights out.

Our backup QB is Shaun mother****ing Hill? Who the **** is that? Who thought that was a good ****ing idea?

Chicago turnover #4. Frankly, they deserve to lose.

                                But they ain't gonna.

We're playing Shaun ****ing Hill. If you guys do lose, frankly, the entire Bears franchise ought to disband.
