IDP Fantasy Football 2010 - Rules & Draft

I'm not happy with how I drafted. In D/ST I took a lot of rookies.I have the potential to be wildly successful or go down in flames.
My draft picks here, I don't know what. They're boring, is the only thing I can come up with at all.
Matt Ryan should be fine, and I have Sanchez behind him. OK, but big whoop.
Boldin could conceivably flourish in Baltimore. Who knows?
Benson? Which one will show up? Bradshaw? I see me rooting for a Giant a lot.

If you look at my team objectively you'll have to agree it will blow everyone else out of the water. I have the best RBs, the best WRs, the best defense, a good TE, and a solid QB.

I'm fairly sure Randy Moss will disagree with that statement, but it's not the 140 I'm suggesting is a bit unrealistic

Actually, EPW has a pretty damn strong team... really, guys? How'd you let him manage this one? CJ with Stewart and Ronnie Brown (Brown will get hurt but he's one of the best backs in football when he's healthy), Miles Austin and Desean Jackson, a very good TE in Brent Celek... to have Eli Manning who is a 4000 yard, 27TD passer as his weakness if pretty absurd.

The only downfall I see is when Ronnie Brown and Stewart get hurt as they likely will, and EPW has no one behind them.

His WRs are both substantially overrated, and likely to regress significantly (DeSean in particular). I confidently believe my WRs are better than his (particularly when you add in WR3). Celek is no more than an average TE, and, come on, it's TE... and Eli is below average for QB in a super-QB-heavy scoring league. I doubt Eli has 4000/27TD in him this year, among other things. His team is fairly good but not as outstanding as Yahoo! rankings seem to indicate.

Desean is going into his third year... that's the magical year for WR's. He could enter elite territory this year. Of course, he is also a very boom or bust type of receiver who is reliant on Kevin Kolb being Aaron Rodgers two years ago.

Still, I wouldn't sniff at either Desean or Miles Austin. There's reasons why last year could have been a fluke for both of them, but they're both incredibly explosive and have weeks where they will win the week for EPW.

I'm just saying. EPW has a very strong team on paper to the point where you look at it and kind of have to wonder how he managed to get away with those guys.

But, it is top-heavy without much depth and features some injury-prone and boom or bust players. Let some guys underperform and injuries happen and his team will come crashing down.

Desean had a good year last year because of the big bombs. Those won't happen again (or at least not as many of them). Austin I also don't believe in, mostly because the Cowboys WRs never make sense to me - under/overperformers based on no apparent reason. For all I know Roy Williams could party like it's 2007 this year...

EPW has a strong team on paper, but I don't think it's going to translate into super-strength. It's certainly not a team that I'd say "How'd you let him draft that" about... and is not likely to be >200 unless CJ has a crazy-awesome year.

It's not just CJ. If Ronnie Brown could last a full season, he would be in AP/CJ/MJD territory, hands down. Jonathon Stewart as well if he's healthy and DeAngelo Williams gets hurt again. Just browsing through the teams, I definitely think EPW's the best on paper with regards to presumed starters.
