I guess-- I was thinking Hawks in 5 or 6 anyway-- (since I picked them for the cup from the outset). I think it is the most popular pick overall ¨(I did not check)but it was also the pick of the 3rd and 4th place guys IIRC.

BUt I thought Niemi was by far the better of the two starters. His failiong was rebound control and there I think the blame has to be shared with his d for not picking up some of those pucks.

But I really expect we might see Boucher start game 2 for the Flyers and I am betting the game sees far better goaltending

Frankly, I hadn't seen your post when I made my pick. And you had plenty of time to change if it concerned you. Flubber didn't post until shortly before game time.

Is there something wrong with posting just before gametime? I think I posted pretty late on almost every round.

I spent very little time in this thread. I had looked at the thread around when the standings came out and did see that a few people had picked Hawks in 5. I then forgot about the thread until Saturday morning when I went on to post my pick. But after several attempts over 3 hours I couldn't get to the point of opening the thread. I saw messages saying the server was busy (anyone else have this problem Saturday??). After going out for some family commitments (and stopping to pick up a new mountain bike-- love it ) I managed to get home in time and post my pick.

AS I said before, the only picks I really considered were Hawks in 5 or 6. Looking at the standings now and other folks picks, Hawks in 5 IS the more strategic pick. As it turns out I could also have chosen Hawks in 7 to prevent GV tying me (with a Flyers in 7 result). His pick appears to be a stated strategic pick . Is there anything wrong with THAT?

As I said earlier, no worries, dude. I think it was the smart thing to do, and if I was concerned, I would have been hovering over the thread prior to gametime. And I agree it was the right move strategically, both in terms of the choice itself and the timing of the post. No complaints, just facts.
