No... the regular season is quite meaningless for any team not in a BCS conference. They will never get a chance to be the champion, even if they go undefeated. Pretty meaningless for them. So you are the one being an idiot.

It's about time that the NCAA took back control of their own sport... instead of allowing a few big conferences to control the sport.

Bull****. TCU was one second away from the title game last season. Boise State is going to start the season in the top five this year. It's totally possible for mid-majors with good track records to earn a spot in the BCS title game.

Possible... maybe. But the non BCS undefeated teams this year didn't get a shot... and past non BCS undefeated teams haven't gotten their shot either. It would take a miracle for one to get the opportunity... making their seasons pretty meaningless.

No ****. When Alabama and Texas go undefeated, they're going to play for the title. If you play a weak schedule, you have to hope that the teams who play tougher schedules slip up.

It's hardly a miracle to have a season end with one or no undefeated teams from the BCS conferences. It happens regularly.

While they may have some leverage when it comes to football, that's only one of the sports.

Football is the only sport that really matters. No major school is going to jeopardize its crucial football revenues out of concerns for basketball or the non-revenue sports.
