If Favre retires, that has got to suck for the Vikings. They could have gotten McNabb and been in very good shape had they known.

From what I'm hearing, Sage Rosenfels is stinking it up in camp so Tarvaris Jackson is the clearcut starter but if he struggles, what other options do the Vikings have? Jeff Garcia? A trade for Mike Vick? Those are the only other QB's that are most comfortable with the system that Brad Childress runs.

Maybe Troy Smith? Bring back Brooks Bollinger from the UFL?

What decent options are there out there, especially ones that are the Brad Childress-type of mobile West Coast QB's?

Regardless if T-Jax pans out or not, they seem to be unhappy with Sage Rosenfels and will probably look to replace him so they'd be in the market for a backup QB anyway.

News: Coles agreed to a contract with the Jets on Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Damn the Jets are stacked at WR. Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, Laveranues Coles, and Jericho Cotchery. Mark Sanchez is going to the Pro Bowl. And this is supposed to be a run-first team?

Do you really think that they'd follow the Favre saga with taking Vick? I don't think so.

He has the most upside of the possible guys (well, maybe second most after Troy Smith but Troy Smith is much riskier. At least we know what Vick can do).

To be honest though, Vick doesn't bring anything that T-Jax can't do already. The only difference is Vick has the benefit of several years of experience as well as playoff experience.

Not NFL but the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks have signed Maurice Clarett, fresh out of prison

Apparently, the Nighthawks have built a bit of a team with Jeff Garcia and Clarett expected to split carries with Ahman Green.

And who remembers Robert Ferguson or Ricardo Colclough? Both play for the Nighthawks. I got to check out more of these UFL teams... they're such a who's who of has beens and what if's
