Drake, when you really only have 1 college in the whole state, like Nebraska, it's pretty much a crap shoot.
You're 100% one way or the other. That doesn't make Nebraska particularly talented if they win the one.

It's been a long time. The funny thing is, when I was looking up the respective bowl records of the conferences there were some years where 7 or more big ten teams went to bowl games. It was ridiculous.

The UPI title that Texas claims for 1970 was awarded before #1 Texas lost to Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl. #2 Ohio State also lost their bowl game, to Stanford in the Rose Bowl. #3 Nebraska beat LSU in the Orange Bowl and therefore won the 1970 national championship.
