It's supposed to correlate to points. Points are done in "real time" (delayed slightly), but I think ranking is supposed to update nightly...but I don't think it updated last night. I imagine the new software still has some quirks

Well yeah. It makes sense, given the nature of the game, but due to my innate thickness I thought player values were pegged strictly to performance.

Actually there's less correlation than you think, at least assuming this works like their other leagues. It's literally determined by buys/sells, which means among other things that if you buy the 'steal' at the start of the season, he's almost guaranteed to go down in price, or at least not go up by much. If 60% of the folks in the league have a particular player, there's little chance of his price going up.

For example, I had Ben Zobrist in the second half game in baseball. $2m price, $4m production, so an easy call. He was owned by around 65% of people in the game. His production waned a bit, not so much that $2m wasn't a good deal anymore, but it wasn't the huge steal it was at the start of the season; his ownership levels dropped to about 50%. His price? $0.65m. Nearly the $0.50m minimum. It's really strange...

The teams winning my baseball league have $34m, $31m, $35m, and $33m in value, based on a $35m starting value. I actually have the highest value of teams in the top half (17 team league) at $36m; the tenth place team has nearly $40m in value. It's almost like the values are in reverse... I made all of mine on pitching, as I made no trades with hitting [the standard strategy in baseball].

And that's with having three duds on the team (D, G, X). Sold them for better talent, and now have a bit of cash left over to party with... err, to trade out for more goalie games.

The strategy in all SNG leagues: one or two big guns and the rest cheap and efficient. Works wonders...

I just picked up Emery also.

This is a really good roster. I've still got a couple trades left this week but I'm waiting to pull the trigger til after a couple games get through. Some of my players have gaps in their schedule coming up, need to ditch them...
