For the rest of the season, I'm not saying anything about...a particular team.
If this particular team falls apart, it won't be because I cheered for them. No kiss of death from me. I'm not even going to talk about anything, for fear that somehow, something would get slopped over onto...them.

When their defense performs, they can be pretty good. Now the offense has shown signs of life and they look like the team I expected. They've got a few holes, but so does everyone else.

Since the winner wants to continue... let's continue. I went through all the old threads looking for how it was done in the past. Unfortunately, the details are in the CBS message board, and you can only look at the current years messages even though you can see final results going back years.

So here is what I would suggest. As Berz mentions:

Wild Card games = 2 points
Round Two = 2 points

League Championships = 4 points

Super Bowl = 5 points

Bonus Points - Pick Super Bowl Winner before playoffs = 10 points
****The JR rule = if Dallas wins, he gets 20 points since he did actually pick them when he was supposed to by the original rules****

As far as the spreads go.. I will continue to post Danny Sheridan's Odds from USA Today the first day they become available, and those will be the spreads we use.

does that mean we get 15 for picking the SB winner now, 10 bonus and 5, but only 5 if we wait to see the teams? Thats an interesting option. Does that mean if we pick a SB winner now to take advantage of the 10 pt bonus and our team doesn't make it, we dont get to make a SB pick for the 5 pts? Thats the penalty for picking a winner now, right. Hmm...we got a few days to consider that dilemma, I might be able to afford waiting to see who plays.

Berz... you seem to be forgeting how it was done in the past.

Picking the SB winner in advance (in this case, before the playoffs starts instead of the start of the season) will earn you the bonus points if your pick wins the SB. It doesn't effect any picks you will make week to week. Later on when the actual match up is known, you will make your normal weekly pick just like everybody else... which is the 5 point score.

I can actually see a situation where you might pick a different team in the final week than the one you selected earlier if all you need is 5 points to guarantee a victory
