Frankly, I think Flubber and myself have the top two on paper, and I don't see wide discrepancies among the rest. Like I said, though, injuries will be huge, as will how people manage their roster throughout the season."The French caused the war [Persian Gulf war, 1991]" - Ned

To my view, Flubber's is the only one that stands out (and I may just be starstruck by the combo of both Crosby + Ovechkin). All of the others seem to be in the same boat, more or less."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

hmmm- while I like Crosby or Ovechkin, the reality is that best case they get not THAT more than a bunch of other folks that have good years. So I do see the attraction (hell its why I spent to get them). But the key will be managing all the rest of the folks. I like my team but not near as much as some of you folks. I think my goaltending is "competitive" at best and my RWs are sub-par. I definitely hope to be a playoff team (hell don't 6 of 8 make it) and beyond that you just hope for a good week .You don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto Luongo

My RWs are atrocious, I think. Everyone kept outbidding me on anyone halfway decent. I ended up paying way too much for Martin St Louis just to have ANYONE half-way good."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Make It 7 is a campaign by a Canadian business man to bring a 7th team (Phoenix Coyotes) to Canada.
Season starts soonish. It's ****ed up cause they go to Euroland to play a couple of games to start the season.

And what is with the Make it 7 campaign?
In 1979 the league expanded from 17 to 21 teams, including 3 of the 4 Canadian Teams (Edmonton, Winnipeg, Quebec & Hartford, U.S.). Once the Atlanta Flames transferred to Calgary in 1981 it resulted in the split between U.S. and Canada 14 teams from the US and 7 from Canada. In the ~30 years since then there have been a number of expansions and transfers of teams notably the Ottawa Senators being part of the expansion in 1992 and the transfer of the Quebec Nordiques to Colorado and the Winnipeg Jets to Phoenix the 90's. This has left the NHL with 30 teams in total, with 6 in Canada (Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver). Simple math shows that the league had gone from having 1/3 of the franchises in Canada (7/21) to 1/5 (6/30) of the franchises in Canada today.
As part of his marketing campaign, multi-millionaire Jim Balsillie has used the Canadian public to try to support his purchase of a team currently located in the U.S. and move it into Southern Ontario as the 7th Team in Canada "Make it Seven".

That's probably a long winded answer to a simple question, but hopefully gives you an idea of what "make it seven" is all about.

Nope. It's up to a judge in Arizona who is likely to rule in favour of the NHL, which means it'll likely stay in the US.
It's actually huge drama. It's a RIM Billionaire (people who make the Blackberries) vs the NHL. He's trying to force his way into the club and forcefully move a team."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

It seems that 29 teams in the NHL would tell it is NOT likely to succeed. They seem against his proposal and want to ensure he is not able to move a team to Canada. Currently there is a court case to decide a bankruptcy dispute, and what the outcome of that is anyones guess.
My opinion? It is not likely to succeed.

While I can understand not moving them...if the team, and the company behind them is bankrupt, how the hell can a buyer be barred from buying them, so long as he has no conflict of interests? Surely the actual assests of the team have to be up for auction? You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

The NHL has to approve all owners of its teams, it's part of the constitution of the league."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
