Possibly through the love and respect for the committments teams and players and organizations do to prepare, when you lose your one "favorite" and Im sure most have a single maybe 2-3 favorites, if they are not available, then go with someone who you may not support, but can follow due to how they represent themselves

Again, I have to find a team to follow now so yes, I will be picking someone to watch who most probably will not be an America based team.

I have little knowledge of the various leagues, I know David Beckham played, was it for Manchester United and then went to Real Madid?

(If Im off, again, just have some memories of past talks, no Im not googling, merely conversing from memory.)

I look to be quite schooled and yes, see many here who have pride and knowledge

    • Beckham started with Man U (the Scum, if you're willing to follow the football threads throughout the English season), then moved to Real Madrid, and is now with the LA Galaxy and AC Milan on loan, although whether they'll want to take him on loan this season is open to debate.

A decent player to be fair, but never one of the best in the world.

Would it be fair to say while not one of the best, he was a crowd pleaser?

              • Oh, and don't, whatever you do, follow Man Utd.

                • Don't follow Arsenal. You should follow, say, Wigan, instead.

                    • Or Spurs. Or Newcastle.

Only problem with Wigan is that they're essentially a Rugby League town. Burnley - now there's a small Lancashire club with a proper history.

                        • Doubt that they'll get Burnley games on telly this season...

                          Muhahahahaha!

                              • Portsmouth were thumped 4-0 by DC United having lost their kit in the airport and being forced to play in the DC away kit.
