I have to agree... this is just plain silly. It's time for the union and management to agree on some salary caps for the kids. The union could go along because it would mean more money for their current members, and I'm sure management would love the idea

Getting the first pick should help the team, not kill it with a terrible contract.

          • Yeah, yeah. Last year. Who cares?

Dallas high schools have 3 players taken in the Top 10. The first time in NFL history that a city has supplied 3.

            • Interesting that Cleveland has traded down twice: Jets took Sanchez; Bucs took Freeman.

                    • Well... at least this year, the Bears didn't make a mistake in the first and second rounds.
With our first pick gone for Cutler, and Angelo trading away the second round pick, the Bears won't be paying any big contracts in this years draft. It will be interesting to see who we get with the 9 picks today.

The Cowboys didn't draft in the first 2 rounds.

                        • The amount the Bears seem willing to cast their lot with Hester and, um, Earl Bennett (zero career catches) is very concerning.

Interesting to see Minnesota stick with their big skills guy with character issues -- Percy Harvin. With him, Berrian, and Peterson, Sage Rosenfels is coming into a great situation.

Pat White and Ronnie White in the backfield for the wildcat would be just awesome really. Though they drafted White as a QB... should make Beck scared.

Atlanta made some really smart, solid, safe picks to shore up the defense. I approve

And speaking of Maclin, Eagles got a steal.

I'm sure the NFL consulted their advertisers before coming up with that bright idea, or were they planning on playing the game at midnight?
