Ozzy, when Imran says "he's a 3B" he means he qualifies at 3B because he played enough games there last year. A player can be slotted in at any position he played at least a certain amount of games at last year. In fact, if he'd played ONLY 3B last year, he wouldn't qualify at 1B until he played a certain number of games THIS year at 1B regardless of where he was officially declared by the Tigers. (5 games, I think, this year; more last year.)

Doesn't matter which actual position he plays. Cabrera is listed as a 3B, 1B, which means you can play him at 3B in this league.

there was something I wanted to tell the newbies but I cant remember

lets see, we have a 20 IP minimum - that means throwing enough starters to make SURE you get at least 20 innings each week (all star week not included). If you dont make the minimum you lose all the pitching categories for that week. It was 23 last year

explore the league page at yahoo, we're picking players based on our particular settings/stats that can be linked thru "players" under "related links" below the transaction list. If you have questions about the yahoo interface and adding and dropping players, just ask here or post it on our league page. The day's games will show up on our stats early the next morning usually before people wake up for work/school, unless you buy stat tracker which gives "real time" results.

when you've made your pick send the next in line a PM and keep your inbox/mailbox clear enough to receive PMs

In the past we've allowed people to change BAPAYs up until 12 picks after the fact but I'm dropping that because it just slows us down and I'm less and less sympathetic to people who cant make a pick in 24 or 12 hours or leave someone a list of picks. Making us wait that long aint gonna make any friends

Holds are the guys who typically pitch the 8th to set up the closer, it has become a position of its own even though some teams rely on committee. Pitchers get Holds for holding a lead after the 5th inning I think but the more reliable guys pitch from the 7th onward - two set up men each assigned an inning. Some teams have it down to even a 6th inning assignment for SPs who dont last more than 5-6 on a regular basis.

our league scoring does not include IP but it still appears in our pitching stats from last year (dont know why). Ignore it, IP is NA

Quality Starts (QS) is 6 IP with 3 or less ER or 4.5 ERA

This just in: Santana has elbow tightness and may not make opening day (uh oh), maybe thats why he aint picked yet
