  • Utah #1

If I had a vote that would be where it would go. The only undefeated team. They beat TCU and Alabama and DID NOT LOSE.

THIS IS WHY COLLEGE FOOTBALL NEEDS A PLAYOFF!!! If a team can go undefeated, beat 2 top 10 teams, one of which was ranked Number ! for half the season and still not have a chance at the title... Why should they even play the season?

It will if people stop watching. And I think that is starting to happen. Since there are so many Bowls. I think people tend to watch the bowl game that "their" team is in, and the National Championship and thats about it.

Put a playoff in and I am watching 16 college football games.

The Utahs of college football are never going to get a chance. There is simply too much money aligned against them. And it is a damned shame, because they deserve a chance. I think even NGR would have to admit that at this point.

Of course they need a playoff.
Every other division has football playoffs.
They could make December playoffs like March Madness.

They aren't a #1 team that hasn't been given the right to play for the championship. They're about a #5 team or so that hasn't been given a right to play for the championship. But the latter is still a problem.

                I voted for Utah #2.

That says something about Alabama, I think. I've nver been there, but I think that's cool.

They had their chance. They didn't play a tough enough schedule to get a high computer ranking and failed to impress enough voters to get a high ranking in the human polls.

What Utah really needs to do is call up Boise State and apply to join the Pac-10. Would solve all these problems overnight.

Utah and Boise in the Pac 10

Unfortunately I think the other governors of Pac 10 schools want to keep their conference at 10 and want nothing to do with a conference championship. Also Boise only has football going for them. They really don't have a built up sports program aside from that and the Pac 10 likes all sorts of sports and not just football.

Another option, I've heard is Boise St. has been approached by the Mountain West as their 10th team. Could it make a stronger conference and help with the computers if Boise St., Utah, and TCU have to play each other every year.

Florida and Oklahoma had their chance, and lost. Utah didn't.

Yeah, but Utah's schedule doesn't compare with Florida's, Oklahoma's, or Texas's for that matter.

Cry to the AP and Harris voters. I'm not responsible.

Besides, you should really place the blame squarely on Michigan. If they hadn't been so god awful this season, Utah would have been ranked higher by the end of the season. The Michigan Wolverines were so bad that they actually ruined another team's season in addition to their own...

I doubt Utah sees their season as ruined.

Michigan hurt them but I don't really think it would have mattered if Michigan was any good. Utah still wouldn't have made the NC game.

The powers that be wouldn't want that.

Why the non-BCS coaches have to vote the winner of the NC game #1 is beyond me.
