oh god, I dont know why but I hate Civ 4... Maybe hate is too strong, but it gets under my skin for some reason. It seems rigged in some way to make up for weak ai... Or maybe I'm the weakest link But that shouldn't effect mp that much, I just dont get enough practice because I dont like playing the ai so I suck at mp, or at least when I was playing. Yeah, winter's here, cant golf, I might get back into it.

Y'all playing civ 4 bts ? At least I'm not on dial up

We play most Fridays; had 6 last week. Rah also has a Saturday game..

The Friday game is a bit lower impact, which is good for me, since I kind of suck. But I do find it pretty addictive/fun. Come on down!!

ugh, I'll give it a try this weekend. I forget, is it simul moves? Who hosts the friday game? Oh geez, that means reviving my ICQ, maybe in 2 weeks I gotta get all that stuff up and running.

huh, my ICQ still works, cool

Friday's host is either Ming or (if Ming and I are playing board games), rah on Ming's comp.

Yeah, simul moves, and we use a timer to keep it moving. There's a rah's game thread in Civ4 Multiplay.

What would I need to do Civ 4? Just buy it, and get whatever patch?

Not sure, the game has a patch update option when you get to the play options menu. But I think its Civ 4 Beyond the Sword, I dont know if you need Civ 4 or not. I'm sure that info can be found in the civ 4 section

                hey,

                Tribes? Where's Boann?

Yeah, we play BTS. You need a half-decent comp, the sys reqs basically require a good video card ("64MB video card with Hardware T&L"). and 512+ RAM, blah blah.

IIRC from the tech forum, I don't think it'll be an issue for you, Sloww.

You need Civ4 + Civ4 Beyond the Sword, or whichever version comes with all 3 in one (don't recall). Direct2drive.com has both options, you might find it cheaper retail.

In other news, the league final showdown is almost set for Week 16: Either Stuie's Sparta FC team or my underdog Vicious Rabbits will take on Berzerker's Born To Run.

Berz rode an incredible defensive performance -- all 4 players in double figures and 51.9 total points -- to a close win over Tuberski's Hairball Express, 158 to 150.

In the other semi, Stuie's boys hold a 137-133 lead going into MNF, but the only player left is mine -- Brian Westbrook. Let's just say I'm hopeful that nothing overly dramatic (injury) happens tonight.

In the consolation bracket, Deity Dude holds a 150-129 lead over snoopy369, but snoop still has two players left -- Cleveland LB D'Qwell Jackson and Philly kicker David Akers. The odds are in DD's favor, but like the Sparta-Rabbit matchup, it's far too soon to being counting chickens...

Indeed, the odds are in DD's favor, but D'Qwell has scored 22 points for me himself before (in a loss no less!)... you never know

I'll be rooting for Westie to go down early (sorry, JR) as in L1, I have McNabb + PHI DEF vs Westbrook + 30. Tight one for me, and only because of Eli's 0.50...

I'm hoping the Eagles put up a couple TDs in the air early and pull Westbrook from the game. He needs to rest that ankle going into the final two weeks.
