It does if the quarter ends, timeout is called, player is injured two minute warning occurs, etc.

    Deal with it.

I can deal with that, but just barely. Adding in instant replay breaks of only coin flip accuracy is where I draw the line. I'm pretty sure I get even more annoyed because every. single. time. there's a replay I have to hear some color commentatory say "now remember, it has to be conclusive evidence to overturn the call. That's the key -- conclusive evidence". How could I not remember -- I've heard it 4-5 times per game for the past 5 years.

Dude, each coach gets 2 challenges/game. That's 4/game, max. And seldom are all of them used. In fact, the most used by ANY team all of last year was 12, by Minnesota.

League-wide total was 237 red flags thrown by coaches.
Divide by 17 weeks >> about 14 red flags/week -- less than one per game. (There are 256 games/season.)

Oh, and BTW, the reversal percentage is 37.1%.

Here's a link. Now get over it.

It was hyperbole. Nevetheless -- 2 coaches challenges per team per game, but infinite booth challenges inside the last two minutes of each half.

I don't care what the reversal percentage is -- I care what the percentage correct is.

Why the hostility? Instant replay degrades my enjoyment of professional football. You like it. Awesome.

            Annoying but necessary.
While a few bad calls stand replay corrects quite a few of them. And as JR pointed out, the overall average per games is quite low. I'm glad they put a limit on them and penalize you when it's not overturned. Since it's a necessary evil, at least there's a strategy to using them.

Hostility? None at all. You used hyperbole, and I just called your ass on it.

And I didn't say I liked it (voted "necessary evil" or whatever in the poll). But I think it helps a lot more than it hurts. It's a shame there's no way to guarantee a good angle on every play, and there's still a decided difference among the various replay officials as to what is "definitive evidence" or whatever. So the human factor remains. But I believe there are now fewer games decided by bad calls. And that's good.

I agree that it's not fun to watch. But it's better than watching some team get an undeserved victory on a blown call.

Sorry. I read "Now get over it" as hostile. No worries.
