I believe that Sloww's POV is the lead wasn't given to him.

Rather, Sloww feels that he TOOK the lead, wresting it from his opponents in a manly fashion.

(A lot of inference from a single smilie, but that's my take on it.)

I tried to sell Eli Manning, but they're only giving me what I paid for him ($13.82) as opposed to what he's currently worth ($19.26). Is this supposed to work like this?

Yes. That is how it works. So you need to decide whether giving up the points by playing him on the bye week is worth the $5.44 increase in cost to buy him back later.

A lot of us just suck it up on the bye weeks if it's someone who's a major value (like last year, when APete went from about 5 bucks to over $20 at his bye week).

Zopp won the week with a stellar Rank Team Points 98.21. But both the Janks and Da Boyz had over 97 points. The Janks "earned" their way back to first place on this strong effort. With only a weak 73 point effort, The Tossers fell into second place.
