Can someone explain to me how a defensive end can be called for delay of game?

How the **** did I win both of my games last week????? Not that i'm arguing, or anything. But still... my teams suck...
I think there are other ways in which a defensive player can delay a game, but at the snap I've never seen it. Conceivably if it was a quick turnaround (ie, last minute with the offense rushing to the line) it might just take that long to call it, but ... odd.
