TSN calls him a C/LW and the official Penguins website has him playing left wing for either Crosbie or Malkin so I am hoping to use him to fill out my wingers. I am also hoping for a lot more than 42 points from him!!

When does yahoo typically change or add to players designations (or is it pretty hit or miss)?

I agree wholeheartedly but you will have to agree that you have deemphasized goaltending. The impacts are

Wins-- unless something shocking happens you will have a tough time in this category pretty much every week unless you can come up with a surprise keeper with big wins

Sv%-- you may be essentially deciding to go with Rollies numbers on this and they could very well win some weeks. I see this category as being very interesting for everyone since it may sometimes be best to sit your keepers to win this one if you get big numbers early

Shutouts-- Isn't that moderately random ? Was this category tied a lot last year ( ie 0 or 1 shutouts)?

Yes. I've given up one stat, Wins, vs the teams with the ringer goalies and back ups for the back ups. I gave that up when I picked Thornton.

I own A's and PPA's and can compete or have an edge for the rest.

And then there's injuries and fudge factors. I've banked on goalies in the past. This time I'm trying something different.

I picked Roli too early, but I was fairly certain Sparrow would have taken him if I hadn't.

This is the full draft setup of the league right now, as of Guy's last pick.

Interesting for me is that mrboo is not getting any flak for his 1 G setup, but NYE is. Is that because 1 G is an acceptable setup when you have a top goalie (basically, trying to win two of the three goalie stats while giving up the third, by not polluting Brodeur games with "bad" games by a worse goalie)?

Also interesting is Sparrowhawk's treatment of the D Position... basically treating it like kicker in football

Sort of like that. The Oilers are written off by most everyone so Roli isn't well regarded, while Brodeur is, well, the cream of the crop.

This draft is interesting in that there have been a lot more goalies drafted and we have 2 fewer teams. Everybody is focused on getting the starter for a team, or 3.

What happens if one of those starters goes down? Loses the starting job?

It's certainly a much better position than starting with only 1 crappy goaltender.

That's also why smart players draft 3 starters.
