Tough to lay off the other obvious WR pick, but can't afford to risk that much on one team

Yeah, but it is not good to players on the same team with bye weeks. Especially top players.

Me found this out last year as wekk three was a total waste

Yep... It's a value thing, if the value they'll give you other weeks is worth more then it's okay, but if it's close it's a bad idea.

Problem is it's not a straight points thing (then it wouldn't matter) but a % added chance to win. When you have three top 5 guys with one bye week, you have essentially 0 chance to win that week, which is (-50%) or more.

Anyhow, I don't like having 2 guys from the same team in top spots either since they tend to be too well correlated together - there's some advantage to WR because one or the other will "steal" catches from each other, but overall you still have "good weeks" and "bad weeks" for the team, and that'll depress the whole value for them. (IE, week they play chicago = both WRs do poorly.)

Besides, the last time I drafted Anquan, he got hurt, missed most of the season and IIRC scored exactly one TD for me.
