It's that having 2 guys on the same team means you will have much more extreme variations in your team. Some weeks you'll do really well - when the Saints play well as a team - and some weeks you'll do poorly. It's the same reason why, excepting Peyton Manning and Harrison/Wayne, you never want a QB and his top WR unless it's at a good discount.
Unless you have a lousy team anyway and prefer the swings so that you have a shot at winning three or four games

I almost took someone else, not Houshmandzadeh though.
The team can lose and both players do well, and the team can win and it be all Deuce McAllister.

Certainly possible, but teams have high scoring games and low scoring games, and there is a statistical correlation between two players on the same team most of the time. Not a 100% bet, just a correlation. And RB/WR is safer than QB/WR (highly dangerous); but still, when all other things are nearly equal, safer to go with a player from another team.Originally posted by SlowwHand

BTW Sloww, I'd have said either of these two (Boldin/Williams) was a better choice than colston for you because they're equivalent caliber to colston. But it's always your choice

I had a tough choice. Personally I prefer Boldin, but his bye week is the same as KC (and is the worst bye week for overlap); and he's the #2 wr on his team, while roy is #1. Roy on the other hand has Jon Kitna.
/me does not think much of Jon Kitna
But, hopefully he'll repeat his 4000 yard season ... and send them all to Roy
