  • Well, I would have spoken, but the fate of French clubs in the H Cup didn't offer great motivation. On the other hand, I have a match scheduled next week so if I'm unlucky again, I may have something to post again.

    • You're far too modest. Why are Toulouse interested in Stephen Larkham when they could have had you? And saved the cost of an airfare.

      • I think that's only because they looked for a fly half rather than a former scrummy turned hooker. Maybe I should notify them that I played number 10 for a whole half-time once?

        • Don't be too specific about the time involved. Just call yourself "versatile". And emphasise that you will save them the cost of an airfare from Australia. In fact, you should offer to pay your own train fare.

            • Thats a little unfiar on Scarlets I think.

You have to beta Tigers up front to win you see - I was right all along.

A power based game plan - using the forwards to control the game and prevent your opponents playing their prefered style of game. I'd say Tigers executed it very well?

And how ironic that Goode chooses to put in one of his best performances ever whilst his opposite number substantially under performed.

You will have to forgive me for enjoying it somewhat.

Chris jack joins Saracens after teh RWC - thats a huge huge loss to NZ. Any young locks coming through as Flavell, Williams an Robinson doesn't look like a huge pool of talent?

              • There are a couple of very promising young types coming through S14. I see them every week. I wish I knew their names. One of the bonuses of resting the ABs from the first half of the S14 season was that it gave opportunities to younger players.

Carl Hayman nicking off to Newcastle might be a bigger problem.

Well, after 50 mins Scarlets had had nothing more than parity at best...- and the lead.

Yeah, hats off to you. You looked the more clinical/professional side; comfortably tbh.

Llanelli were, IMO, really poor at the breakdown. They didn't have great ball and played very little of their rugby.

That really pissed me off, actually.

Still, try of the weekend goes to Adam Black of the Dragons.
                  Seen it?

Also, a last play scrum 5 leading to a final kick drop goal gives Blues the win over Ulster. League still on.

                  • Looks like the Chiefs might be in with a chance of making the top four. Otherwise, the Brumbies seem to be the only team from Oz that could make it to the semis. I wonder if that would be a first or not.

                    • No. The Waratahs have only made it to the finals in the last three or so years. For a long time, it was only the Brumbies.

Northampton hooker Dylan Hartley has been banned for six months for eye-gouging two Wasps forwards in a Premiership match earlier this month.
I didn't quite predict this, but I did nominate him - on one viewing - as a lunatic.

How's your grasp of Argentinian, Havak?

                      • As shaky as my grasp of English.

I missed the Dragons cup game jka - sounds like a try worth tracking down then?

Yes, but would it be the first time no Aussie team made it? An Aussie-free semi-final and final?

                          • The try's worth seeing if you have a thing for 'wall' tries - as I do.

Here's another nice try though, from last night...

1998 was the last time, when the comp was S12. The final four was Crusaders, Blues, Sharks and Highlanders.
