Put it this way. At one point, Western Australia talked of seceding. There was a collective, voluminous sigh of disappointment elsewhere in the country when they didn't.

Aha - we are talking the equivalent of the Home Counties perhaps.

No. Fosters was invented in Melbourne. In fact, by a couple of Yank immigrants in the century before last. Rest assured, though. If they hadn't, someone in Western Australia would've." ... and the following morning I should see the Boks wallop the Wallabies again?" - Havak

Thanks Finbar - I'd always assumed Fosters was a WA based monstrousity and that the East coast was afflicted by those other brewery wannabes (Tooheys and Carlton). I certainly found Fosters to be scarce in Queensland, Victoria and NSW - perhaps I luckily picked the right bars?
And a note to the purveyors of Victoria Bitter - what that is you are shipping it most certainly is not bitter. Bitter is not 'fizzy' and it doesn't look like Urine before being imbibed - VB 'enjoys' both those qualities. It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

Fosters - as an individual beer - hasn't been a big brand in Australia for a long time. It was, once. The brewery now concentrates on brews like the appalling VB domestically. Fosters - as a beer - is mainly for overseas consumption, where it's usually brewed locally under licence." ... and the following morning I should see the Boks wallop the Wallabies again?" - Havak

Gloucester number eight James Forrester has been cited for allegedly kneeing Sale Sharks fly-half David Blair." ... and the following morning I should see the Boks wallop the Wallabies again?" - Havak

Gloucester fans rave about Forrester but for me he is similar to Chris Jones of Sale - that is the very occasional flash of brilliance hidden amongst hours of nothing special.
I suspect in the long run Jordan Crane or Tom Rees will pip him to extended England honours.
As for this alledged foul play I never saw the game but do you know if it caused the back injury that has put David Blair out of action? If so i suspect a lengthy ban will be forthcoming? It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

Is it back or ribs? Anyway, he had to leave the field after the incident. It was a nasty piece of work from Forrester. The surface was muddy, Blair was on the ground with the ball, Forrester dropped onto him knees-first. He might argue that the slippery surface contributed, but the intent was screamingly obvious." ... and the following morning I should see the Boks wallop the Wallabies again?" - Havak

the BBC is reporting that it is his back.
I shall be interested to see the result of his disciplinary panel then. Impressively timed self destruction after just having made the Saxons squad again. It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

Speaking of beer, I've just bottled my first batch of homebrew. A friend gave me a Mr Beer kit for Christmas, so I'm giving it a whirl. Ever done any homebrew Havak?...people like to cry a lot... - Pekka

I dabbled a few times with mixed results - I have to confess that I have more talent for drinking the stuff than for brewing it.
As for the rugger Munster, Leinster, Biarritz and bizarrely Llanelli are all blazing the way (though beware as Biarritz are in the weakest group by far).It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

Two bad blows. I turned on Sky expecting to see Leicester go down.

Too bad. It looks like there will be only 2 French clubs qualified for the H Cup final phases: Biarritz and the Stade Francais (who "just" needs to beat Calvisano at home). Perpignan seems to have lost all chances, as had Toulouse and Bourgoin since a long time.Clash of Civilization team member

Bourgoin actually gave Munster a good game though - and that surprised me (they were already out of the cup and had been thrashed by Tigers).
Stade did not look great against Ospreys - and Biarritz are in a ridiculously weak group. I would be very susprised if either French side makes this years final.
