He's just providing the opportunity for everyone to get what they want. He doesn't seem to be profiting by it. (well at least not that we know of)

You don't need to profit to be manipulative.

Lancer's pitching hard for people to meet his relatives even though they're a world a way. He ALWAYS finds an 'angle' in his sales pitch to try to manipulate the person into doing this. The two most recent examples are Uncle Buster at WPC (who is a shut-in) and the newbie in the Phobia thread here. He persistently goes after them even after they decline, each time trying to spin it to meet their circumstances as some kind of cure for them.

He's very manipulative, even if he isn't outwardly profiting from it monetarily. He's building some kind of pseudo-cult where he's the ringmaster. If you drew a network diagram of the people in his extended family, Lancer would be smack dab in the middle. He gets people from around the world to marry the relatives.

He's definitely manipulating people. This has gone way beyond simple introductions. It's one thing to be introduced to someone at a party, it's quite another to hound and pester people to move across the world in order to marry his wife's relatives.

I guess all advertising could be considered manipulative, but I don't consider Lancer going past any normal advertising campaign. I guess if he was pushing young men, you might think differently.
